Traditionally, the ASML Marathon Eindhoven starts on Saturday with the walkers and the ASML Your Marathon Challenge. At the unique Marathon Eindhoven Urban Walk, many enthusiastic walkers discovered the city of lights. In the afternoon, hundreds of sports enthusiasts finished their own marathon by jointly completing the last 1,195 km. Various distances of running are scheduled on Sunday.

Marathon Eindhoven Urban Walk
The walk of the 39th edition had a new look: during this “Urban Walk”, walkers discover the city by visiting various locations during the route. The atmosphere was good right from the start at Stories Eindhoven. A long procession of walkers passed through the streets of Eindhoven on their way to the first location. The Evoluon, where you normally don’t enter easily, immediately gave the opportunity to take beautiful pictures and make memories.
With coffee or tea in hand from the cosy community centre De Meerpaal, it was then time to stroll through the greenery of the Genneper Parks. Past the Water Mill and the Genneper Parks Pavilion where the second stamp could be collected. In between, the walkers of the 20 km walked towards the High Tech Campus and visited Scouting Angelo Roncalli. A visit to the preHistoric Village was also part of the walk! Here, the walkers went back in time and learned from the residents daily actions such as rope weaving.
The walkers then moved on towards the centre of Eindhoven. This via a visit to the music venue at the City Pavilion. Before the finish could be passed on the Vestdijk, the walkers on the long route headed further into the heart of Eindhoven. There, the visit to the DAF Museum was one of the highlights. For the car enthusiast, this was the ultimate outing! Long route participants could also pick up an extra stamp at Centrum De Eik, visit Wielercafé Cyklist and the Erfgoedhuis.
After the pleasant route with many music points and fun quiz questions along the way, after 12 or 20 km there was the moment you had trained for: the finish on the Vestdijk! Cheered on by the Sfeerman, the well-deserved walking pin could be collected here. This made the walkers the first finishers of the marathon weekend!
ASML Your Marathon Challenge
At 3.30pm, it was time for the ASML Your Marathon Challenge. From the Stadhuisplein, over 400 enthusiasts took off to complete their own marathon. The participants for whom exercise is a challenge have completed 41km themselves in the months leading up to the ASML Marathon Eindhoven. This by taking a stroll through the neighbourhood more often, getting moving together or simply leaving the car at home and walking to the supermarket. This afternoon, they completed their challenge by completing the last 1,195km to the finish together.
Encouraged by the crowd, this was a celebratory moment for participants, supporters and spectators alike. You really earned this medal!
Sunday
On Sunday, the programme includes the Jumbo Mini Marathon (09.00), RSM City Run 5 km (09.30), ASML Marathon Eindhoven (10.00), ¼ Marathon (10.15) and ASML Half Marathon (14.00). Registration for these is no longer possible. With a summer weather forecast, nothing stands in the way of an unforgettable Sunday.
