ASML’s Time for others: a victory lap for charity

With ‘Time for others’, ASML Marathon Eindhoven is giving participants the chance to run extra meters for a local charity for the first time. By running an extra lap of 300 meters through the Philips Stadium, RSM Quarter Marathon and ASML Half Marathon participants support fellow residents of the Brainport region who could use a little help. Everyone can contribute by running, donating or cheering on the runners. ASML introduces this new initiative as part of the company’s social agenda for a strong Brainport Eindhoven region where everyone can take part.

First route with social impact
As a title partner, ASML has been closely involved with the marathon for years. “With ‘Time for others’, participants and visitors of the ASML Marathon Eindhoven literally and figuratively get moving for other people in our region on Saturday, October 12. The initiative stems from our ambition to give the marathon a more social dimension,” says Marjolein de Hooge, head of community engagement at ASML. “The extra meters make a difference for many people in Brainport who could use a helping hand. Together, we want to make it a memorable moment for everyone, because sports connect us, lift us up and make us stronger.”

Four impactful charities in our region
ASML selected four regional charities for ‘Time for others’: Stichting DRIP, which passes on cool sportswear to young people, KWF-Kankercentrum De Eik, Fonds Gehandicaptensport and Stichting WensAmbulance Brabant. That way, proceeds of the initiative will directly benefit residents in the region.

Run, donate or cheer
RSM Quarter Marathon and ASML Half Marathon participants may register in advance or decide to run the additional meters on the spot. They invest extra time and energy during the lap, but their actual race time comes to a standstill for a while. That means they won’t lose time on their effective finish time of their chosen marathon distance, while contributing to a great cause.

In addition to the €5 that ASML donates per participant who runs the extra round, everyone can also donate via the ‘Time for others’ website. There participants can start a personal fundraising campaign for one of the charities and actively recruit additional donations from family, friends, neighbors or colleagues.

Supporters are also welcome on October 12 from 9 a.m. onwards at the new Cheer Zone to cheer on the runners during their ‘Time for others’ lap through the Philips Stadium – where champions truly belong. While the DJ is playing beats, incoming runners will be shown live on large screens.

About the ASML Marathon Eindhoven collaboration
The ASML Marathon Eindhoven is the largest two-day sports event in the Dutch province of North Brabant. Compared to other marathons in the Netherlands, it has the largest number of participants for the recreational distances. Every year, more than 35,000 participants and tens of thousands of spectators travel to the heart of Eindhoven for the lively route and the various distances.

Sports keep you fit and connect you with others. ASML is committed as a title partner to making the ASML Marathon Eindhoven accessible to all participants and supporters. That’s why ASML offers people with limited resources access to free starting tickets, training, sportswear and running shoes (through Stichting Leergeld, Voedselbank and Springplank040). No matter where you’re from or how fit you are, everyone is welcome at the marathon. Sports connect us, lift us up and make us stronger! The 41st edition of the ASML Marathon Eindhoven will take place on Saturday October 11 and Sunday October 12, 2025.
